Alyssa Weidler

 The Dakota Wesleyan Athlete of the Week after the second week of competition is Alyssa Weidler, it was announced by the DWU athletic department Monday.

 The Sioux Falls, native paced the Tigers to a 4-0 victory on Sunday over Doane University. She notched one goal on four shots and distributed a career-high three assists. The redshirt-senior now sits just seven goals short from tying the all-time career goals scored in DWU women’s soccer history. More importantly, Weidler’s performance helped move the Tigers to 2-0 overall.

 Weidler and the rest of women’s soccer team will return to the pitch at 1 p.m. on Saturday, as they host Hastings College at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
