Hoglund is coming off an impressive week to lead the Tigers to the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament championship game for the first time in 10 years. On the week, he averaged 33 points, five rebounds and three assists per game.
In Wednesday’s win over University of Jamestown, Hoglund went off for 33 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the free-throw line and 10-of-20 shooting from the field. He added three rebounds, three assists and a steal. In the semifinal win on Saturday, Hoglund tallied another 33-point performance, this time on 10-of-10 shooting from the charity stripe and 10-of-18 shooting from the field. He added seven rebounds and three assists to his score line.
The Dell Rapids, S.D., native ranks ninth in the NAIA with 23.0 points per game. He also ranks 10th nationally in free-throw percentage as he shoots 86.9% from the free-throw line and ranks 10th in total scoring as he has 689 points on the season.
Hoglund and the Tigers vie for a GPAC title against Concordia University at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Corn Palace.
