MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University athletics had a different look in 2015-16 with the unveiling of a new logo and website early in the school year. With the new look came new Tiger marketing materials, including a complete redesign of all DWU media guides, posters and game day programs.
All four media guides, which are designed and edited in house, were ranked in the top 10 in the NAIA, it was announced earlier this week by the NAIA-SIDA at the organization's annual convention in Dallas, Texas. The media guides were designed by DWU sports Information director Nick McCutcheon, while copy editing was handled by McCutcheon and DWU graphic designer Chad Larson.
"This recognition is a major testament to the quality of work our entire marketing team puts forth for each of our programs, in particular our outstanding SID, Nick McCutcheon," DWU Athletic Director Jon Hart said. "Under his creative vision, our brand, marketing efforts, publications, media presence and overall appearance has undergone a major upgrade and these awards are proof of that."
The 2015 Tiger football media guide took fourth place out of 26 entries in the fall brochure category, closely followed by the DWU volleyball guide in the same category. The Tiger men's and women's basketball guides placed eighth and 10th, respectively, in the winter brochures category.
The DWU sports information department also received recognition for gaining the fifth most Twitter followers by an NAIA program in 2015-16. In two years, DWU's official athletics Twitter account has seen an increase of more than 1,600 followers, doubling the total at the start of 2014-15.
