Tiger women tied for first, men picked third
MITCHELL, S.D. – After qualifying for the NAIA Women’s National Tournament a year ago, the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s basketball teams have been picked high in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Preseason Poll released on Wednesday.
MITCHELL, S.D. – After qualifying for the NAIA Women's National Tournament a year ago, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's basketball teams have been picked high in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Preseason Poll released on Wednesday.
The DWU women sit in a tie for first place with Morningside College, picking up six first-place votes as the Mustangs tallied five first-place votes.
DWU finished runner-up in the conference tournament last season, while Morningside took the regular season and tournament titles.
The Tiger women travel west to battle Johnson and Wales University at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27 in Denver.
On the men's side, after competing in the NAIA Men's National Basketball Tournament, the Tigers were picked to finish third behind regular season and tournament champions, Briar Cliff University. Midland University came in second with one first place vote.
The Tiger men host Waldorf University at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
