DWU athletic programs honored for academic achievement

MITCHELL, S.D. – Fourteen Dakota Wesleyan University athletic programs were recently honored by the NAIA for overall academic excellence in the classroom last season.

 Women's cross country, football, women's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, men's basketball, indoor men's track and field, outdoor men's track and field, indoor women's track and field, women's outdoor track and field, women's golf, men's golf, baseball and softball were all recipients of the award.

 The Tiger volleyball program coached by Lindsay Wilber, yielded a 3.77 GPA in the classroom, while the women's basketball program coached by Jason Christensen had a 3.62 GPA.

  In order to be nominated for the award, teams must have a 3.0 GPA through the fall and spring semesters.
