Tigers drop doubleheader to Midland
FREMONT, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team was held scoreless in each of their Great Plains Athletic Conference games against Midland University as they dropped the first game 3-0, and lost the second game, 5-0 Sunday in Fremont, Neb.

FREMONT, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team was held scoreless in each of their Great Plains Athletic Conference games against Midland University as they dropped the first game 3-0, and lost the second game, 5-0 Sunday in Fremont, Neb.
In the first game of the day, the Warriors (14-9, 2-0 GPAC) were first on the board as they plated three runs thanks to four hits in the fifth inning. The Tigers (5-12, 1-3 GPAC) were unable to record a run in the first game.
Reed Harter (Colome, S.D.) and Wes Anderson (Duluth, Minn.) recorded the only two hits of the game as they each finished 1-for-3. Gunnar Johnson (Gresham, Ore.) pitched five innings and struck out three batters for DWU.
The second game saw much of the same as Midland put up two runs in the fourth inning. The Warriors added two runs in the sixth inning and a run in the eighth inning to put DWU away, 5-0. The Tigers finished with three runs in the game as Harter, Chandler Bakley (Martin, S.D.) and Zack Puetz (Volga, S.D.) went 1-for-3. Dominique Boerger (Milbank, S.D.) pitched six innings and struck out two batters in the loss on the mound.
The Tigers face in-state rival Mount Marty College in a GPAC showdown at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Yankton, S.D.
