Cervantes Named GPAC Defensive POTW
MITCHELL, S.D. – With a 77-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 27-16 win over Briar Cliff University, senior linebacker Anthony Cervantes (Burbank, Calif.) was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Cervantes finished thegame against BCU with eight tackles, including five solo, while his big play helped the Tigers pull in front of the Chargers in the GPAC opener for both schools Saturday, Sept. 13 at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell, S.D.
The weekly defensive honor was the second straight for the Tigers, who swept the awards following week one.
After a 2-0 (1-0 GPAC) start to the 2014 season, the Tigers jumped six spots to No. 15 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll. DWU continues play at home against No. 18 Northwestern College (Iowa) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. The game is the annual "Blue and White Days" for the Tigers.
