MITCHELL, S.D. – Leading up to the in-state rivalry between Dakota Wesleyan University and Dakota State University on Thursday, the Sports Information Department will highlight key players that will have an impact on the upcoming season.
The second leading tackler for the Tigers last season returns for his junior year and will be needed to lead a young backfield for head coach Ross Cimpl. DeCroock tallied 65 tackles at his safety positon a year ago, while adding two interceptions and two pass breakups.
A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., DeCroock tallied a season-high 11 tackles on Oct. 29 against Morningside College and nine tackles on Oct. 8 in a 42-37 victory over Dordt College. He recorded more than five tackles in 9-of-11 games last year and had interceptions against Tabor College and Hastings College.
Throughout his career at DWU, DeCroock has recorded 75 tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced fumble.
