Football preps for final road contest with Jimmies

DWU enters the matchup following a convincing victory over Briar Cliff University two weeks ago at Joe Quintal field in Mitchell.
Eyes of the Tigers
The Tigers defeated Briar Cliff by a score of 26-7 two weeks ago, placing the exclamation point on senior-day festivities. Redshirt-freshman running back Jamin Arend (Emery, S.D.) helped pace the offensive attack with 15 carries. Meanwhile, senior defensive end Dominick Warmbein (Sioux Falls, S.D.) anchored the Dakota Wesleyan defense as the unit held the Chargers to just 87 yards of total offense.
Appearing in just his eighth career game, Arend rushed for a career high 98 yards on 15 carries versus the Chargers while recording his second touchdown of the season. The Emery, S.D., native now has 93 carries on the season along with 686 all-purpose yards.
Warmbein created havoc in the Briar Cliff backfield notching a pair of sacks and tackles for loss to go along with four tackles. The performance was Warmbein's second career multi-sack game as he tallied two sacks and four tackles for loss versus Concordia University in 2018. The Sioux Falls native now sits second on the team in tackles for loss as the DWU defense has racked up 32 on the season.
Beyond the Stripes
Dakota Wesleyan holds a 15-12 margin in the all-time series, winning four-straight matchups versus the Jimmies. Since 2016, the Tigers have outscored Jamestown 186-64, including 55-17 and 41-21 victories in Jamestown during the 2016 and 2018 seasons, respectively.
In week 10 of 2019, the Tigers cruised to a 41-14 victory over Jamestown at Joe Quintal Field after surrendering 14 first quarter points. The DWU offense accumulated 440 yards of total offense while the defense forced three Jimmie turnovers along with four sacks.
Keeping it Cimpl
Head Coach Ross Cimpl is in his ninth season at the helm for the Tigers where he currently resides as the second winningest coach all-time. He currently boasts an overall record of 51-43 while becoming just the second coach in program history to amass 50-career victories. Lastly, Cimpl holds a 4-0 record all time versus Jamestown.
The opposing sideline will feature Brian Mistro is in his second season with the Jimmies after taking over the program in January of 2019. Mistro previously served as an assistant coach at Concordia College in Moorhead for seven years, helping the Cobbers to a 51-19 record.
Stocking the Hunt
Jamestown enters Saturday's matchup with a 1-5 record after losing its first four games to open the 2020 campaign. A week ago, the Jimmies earned their first victory of the season defeating Briar Cliff by a score of 17-10 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Through six games this season, sophomore quarterback Cade Torgerson ranks 17th nationally in total offense with 1,203 total yards of offense while leading Jamestown with seven touchdowns. Defensively, Jamestown maintains a talented secondary led by junior defensive back Jordon Olson. Olson has notched 19 solo tackles, 40 total tackles along with one interception.
