Recap:

DWU started off for the second game in a row on the defensive side of the ball, but this time came up with a stop to set the tone early for the game and have a chance to strike first. The Tigers would do just that with a 10-play 51-yard drive that was capped off with a Jamin Arend seven-yard touchdown run on a run/pass option play that froze the defender making it a 7-0 score after the converted extra point by Jaxon Patrick.

Jimmies on their next drive faced a fourth and seven on the DWU 32 yard-line and would go for it and not convert turning the ball over on downs keeping it a 7-0 Tigers advantage. On the ensuing drive for the Tigers, they would move the ball with ease down the field with a run-heavy approach.  On 1st and 10 at the Jimmies 23-yard line Austin Lee's pass would get deflected in the air by the Jimmies secondary and the ball would find the hands of a Jimmie defender giving the ball back towards the end of the first quarter.

DWU defense would hold strong after the turnover and force a punt. Offensive side of the ball wouldn't have much doing either after the punt and go three and out. UJ started their drive at their own 11 yard-line and go 11 plays and 89 yards to tie it up at 7-7 early into the second quarter.

Tigers on their ensuing drive would lean on Arend early and get success but ultimately stall out and be forced to punt keeping it a 7-7 game. Trey Bohlmann would bust through the Jimmie offensive line on first down for a one-yard tackle for a loss and stall out the drive before it even started and force another punt.

DWU would regain the lead on their next drive with an 8 play, 48 yard and 3:36 minute drive. The drive again would be a heavy dose of Arend on the ground who found the endzone again from one yard out giving the Tigers a 14-7 lead. With only 50 seconds left on the clock the Jimmies would go the aggressive route and try and put a tying score up, but the decision would bite them when Layton Eide picked off the UJ quarterback to give the Tigers the ball back in great field position. DWU wouldn't convert on any of their chances to keep the score 14-7 at half.

Arend would go over 100 yards in the half while on the defensive side of the ball Eide would pace the defense in tackles (5) and the lone Tiger interception. Logan Feuerbach would add four catches for 24 yards. Bohlmann and Hunter Cordell would both record a tackle for a loss in the half.

Tigers opened the second half moving the ball well and highlighted by a big 22-yard connection from Lee to Dexter Curry III. The drive would stall out due to a false start penalty and UJ sack to force a punt. The Jimmies would avoid disaster when the returner fumbled the punt but was recovered by UJ near their sideline.

This would be crucial for Jamestown as they would put together a long 14 play, 87-yard and 6:37 scoring drive to tie the score once again at 14-14. The Jimmies would convert on a fourth and two with completing a pass that was tipped twice.

Arend would pickup right where he left off in the first half by cracking off a 31-yard run to start the drive. Tigers would get down to the redzone thanks to a pass interference on the Jimmies. Tigers would face fourth and goal at the three and hand the ball to Arend who would fumble the ball and be recovered by the Jimmies at their own two-yard line.

Momentum would switch to the UJ side but would quickly change when Adam DeJong would pick off the Jimmie's quarterback pass and return it for six to give the Tigers the lead once again at 21-14. The ensuing kickoff would work out in the Tigers favor when it is muffed and recovered by Gavin Spurrell to give DWU the ball at the Jamestown 28. Like all game the Tigers drive would be a heavy usage of Arend who would find the endzone for a third time extending the Tigers lead to 28-14 with 10:48 left in the fourth.

Jamestown would answer with a seven play, 62-yard drive to close the gap, but the extra point try would be blocked and returned by Cordell for the two-point conversion making it a 30-20 DWU lead with 8:04 left. Jamestown would be called for a targeting penalty on the play resulting in an ejection.

Dakota Wesleyan would lean on the run game to run clock but would face a fourth and three and go for it and not convert, turning the ball over on downs at the Jamestown 37. Jamestown would once again find the endzone bringing the score to 30-27 with 3:40 left in the game. Jimmies would attempt an onside kick, but the Tigers would recover, starting the drive at the UJ 48.

DWU goes three and out on their possession and is forced to punt giving the ball to Jamestown at their own 23 with 2:27 left. The Jimmies would connect on two big passes during the drive of 45 and a 26-yard touchdown connection giving them their first lead of the game at 34-30 with 1:38 remaining. DWU would move the ball all the way down to the UJ 18 before Lee's pass was intercepted in the endzone resulting in a 34-30 final.
