Matthew Kloss is the passing game coordinator, quarterbacks and receivers coach for the DWU football program. He comes to DWU from the University of Sioux Falls where he spent his time as the passing game coordinator and receivers coach. Coach Kloss helped lead the USF football program to a NCAA Division II National Playoff appearance in 2017.
 
Prior to coaching at the University of Sioux Falls, Kloss held the same position at West Virginia State University, a small HBCU located in the heart of West Virginia. During his time at West Virginia State University, he successfully developed and implemented a passing attack that broke multiple school records, and had a receiver finish a season with more than 1,000 receiving yards. Coach Kloss left the Yellow Jackets football program having coached one All-American, and multiple All-Conference players.

Coach Kloss began his coaching career at St. Cloud State University, a public university located in central Minnesota. He began his time at the university as the running backs and tight ends coach. He later was moved to the role of receiver’s coach and passing game coordinator. In coach Kloss’ final year at St. Cloud State University, he helped engineer a record breaking offense that posted 476.5 yards per game, and 5.46 yards per carry. Coach Kloss finished his time at St. Cloud State University having coached a two-time All-American receiver who finished each year with over 1,000 receiving yards, and multiple All-Conference players.

Prior to his coaching career, coach Kloss was a receiver for the University of Minnesota football program.

Kloss currently resides in Mitchell, S.D. with his wife Taylor, and newfoundland Nala.
