DWU to give back to high school athletics
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University is set to host the Culver’s DWU Classic Saturday at the Corn Palace, as some of the top boys’ high school basketball teams will descend on Mitchell, S.D., for a day packed with great matchups.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University is set to host the Culver's DWU Classic Saturday at the Corn Palace, as some of the top boys' high school basketball teams will descend on Mitchell, S.D., for a day packed with great matchups.
The Tiger Athletic Department will proudly give back a portion of the proceeds from the event to the South Dakota High School Activities Association Foundation, which was set up to assist and support educationally-based activities of the SDHSAA member high schools.
The DWU athletic department will make a special presentation to SDHSAA Executive Director Wayne Carney prior to the 7 p.m. game between Sanborn Central/Woonsocket and Langford Area.
"This is something that we want to do for the high school students in the state," DWU Athletic Director Curt Hart said. "Many of our kids are from South Dakota and it is important for us to give back whenever we can."
The 2015 Culvers DWU Classic tips off at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D., and features eight games scheduled to start every 90 minutes.
