MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University men's basketball coach Matt Wilber inked another recruit for the 2015 class with the signing of Austin Bormann to a National Letter of Intent recently to play basketball for the Tigers.
"Austin is a great kid who fits the mold of what we look for in an athlete and a student at DWU," Wilber said. "We are very excited that he choose to play here and look forward to having him on campus next year."
Bormann is in his senior season at Mitchell Christian School in Mitchell, S.D., where he is playing in his final campaign with the Golden Eagles basketball team.
Last season Bormann scored 296 points for MCS, while adding 60 rebounds, 16 steals, 43 assists and shot 73.4 percent from the free-throw line. He holds the MCS record for 3-pointers in a game with seven and was named to the All-Conference team last season.
Bormann is a four-time letterwinner in basketball, while adding three years of golf and one year of soccer in his time with the Golden Eagles.
The 6-foot, 175-pound guard is a native of Stickney, S.D., and he plans to major in business administration at DWU. Austin is the son of Delton and Debra Bormann.
