DWU men topple Jamestown at FSB Classic

The Tigers (3-0), who are receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Poll, shot 53 percent from the field and took 14 more shots than the Jimmies in the win.
Senior Kris Menning (Corsica, S.D.) and junior Trae Bergh (Crooks, S.D.) each scored 21 points to lead the way for the DWU victory. Bergh hit 4-of-8 three-point shots, while Menning added two threes and three steals.
In limited minutes, senior forward Jalen Voss (Worthington, Minn.) scored 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Coming off the bench, junior guard Jade Miller (Mitchell, S.D.) added 11 points including three 3-pointers.
The Tigers made 11-of-31 shots from beyond the arc, while hitting 33-of-62 attempts overall from the field. DWU force 17 turnovers and committed nine, while coming away with nine steals.
The Jimmies (2-2) were led by Jake Hegler with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting and hit three 3-pointers. Jamestown shot 50 percent from the field and made 5-of-11 shots from three-point range.
The Tigers hit the floor again on day two of the Fulton State Bank Classic to take on Mayville State University at 6 p.m. in the event's finale at the Corn Palace.
