DWU to induct five members into Athletic Hall of Fame
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University is proud to announce Brock Seim (’07), Josh Endres (’13), Amanda Hart (’14), Jalen Voss (’15) and Don & Barb Young on being selected into the DWU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University is proud to announce Brock Seim ('07), Josh Endres ('13), Amanda Hart ('14), Jalen Voss ('15) and Don & Barb Young on being selected into the DWU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
Brock Seim – Men's Basketball
Seim played in 56 career games as he tallied 1,271 points, 546 rebounds, 145 made 3-pointers, 122 assists and 121 steals in two seasons. He averaged 45.6 percent shooting from the field, 39.5 percent shooting from 3-point range, 82.2 percent from the free-throw line, 22.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Seim sat at 27th in the all-time scoring list in DWU men's basketball history upon his graduation. He was a two-time All-GPAC First Team selection and an NAIA All-American First Team and Second Team honoree. Seim was named the GPAC Player of the Year in the 2006-07 season.
Josh Endres – Football
Endres completed his career with 3,329 rushing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns and averaged 87.6 rushing yards per game. He tallied 93 receptions, 972 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns. He notched two 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2010 and 2012, while he averaged 100.1 yards and 130.2 yards per game during those two seasons, respectively. When Endres graduated he ranked first in school history in all-time career rushing yards and rushing yards in a single season with 1,302. He was tabbed with three-consecutive All-GPAC First Team honors.
Amanda Hart – Women's Basketball
Hart played in 124 games throughout her career as she was honored with All-GPAC honors in each of her four seasons. She tallied 1,406 points, 305 rebounds, 186 assists, 73 steals, 391 made 3-pointers and 479 made field goals in her career. She was seventh on the all-time scoring list in DWU women's basketball history when she graduated, and her 391 career made 3-pointers is still a school record. She averaged 35.2 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from 3-point range, 85.5 percent from the free-throw line and 11.3 points per game in her career. Hart holds the school record with 112 made 3-pointers in one season, which also led the NAIA in 3-pointers made per game and 3-pointers made in a season. She was a two-time NAIA-Daktronics Scholar Athlete and the GPAC nominee for the Liston Award. Hart also received Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as a sophomore.
Jalen Voss – Men's Basketball
Voss collected 2,059 points, 897 rebounds and 827 made field goals in his career with the DWU men's basketball team. He ranks fourth in the all-time scoring list in DWU men's basketball history. The Worthington, Minn., native was a three-time NAIA All-American nominee as well as a four-time All-GPAC member. He was honored as the 2014-15 GPAC Player of the Year and was a member of the 2014-15 NAIA National Runner-Up team.
Don & Barb Young – Contributors
Don and Barb Young are faithful supporters of Dakota Wesleyan Athletics. Don graduated from DWU in 1968. They each regularly attend games to cheer on DWU student-athletes. The Young's created the Donald and Barbara Young Family Scholarship to help student-athletes of DWU. This scholarship is handed out annually to a student who exemplifies extraordinary leadership both on and off the playing field/court.
The Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet begins at 6 p.m. on April 27 in the Sherman Center on the DWU campus in Mitchell, S.D.
