Hoglund, Cheeseman, Carr named to All-American Teams

MITCHELL, S.D. – For the second consecutive season, seniors Ty Hoglund (Dell Rapids, S.D.), Kynedi Cheeseman (Alexandria, S.D.) and Sarah Carr (Huron, S.D.) were tabbed to the NAIA All-American Teams, it was announced by the NAIA on Thursday.

 This honor marks four-straight years for Hoglund being named to the NAIA All-America Team, making him the only DWU men's basketball player to accomplish this feat. He finishes his career with 2,729 points, good for third on the all-time scoring list behind only Scott Morgan and Alan Miller.

 Hoglund averaged 23.1 points per game and scored 716 points this season, ranking eighth in the country in both categories. He also shot at an 86.6% average from the free-throw line, good for 10^th nationally.

 Throughout his career, Hoglund averaged 21.7 points per game, shot 51.3% from the field and shot 84.5% from the free-throw line. He scored 40 or more points six time in his career and 30 or more points 20 different times in his four years in a Tiger uniform.

 For Cheeseman, this marks her second straight season being named to the All-American First Team, tying Randi Morgan for the only DWU women's basketball player to be named to the First Team twice. She finishes her career with 2,130 points, good for second on the all-time scoring list in program history. She is behind Morgan who sits in first with 2,557, while the two are the only players in program history to surpass 2,000 career points.

 In her four-year career, Cheeseman averaged 15.1 points per game, shot 45.8% from the field and 86.6% from the free-throw line. Her 15.1 points per game in her career is the fourth-best career average in program history.

 Carr was named to the NAIA All-American Third Team, making this the second time being named an All-American after her Second Team nod a season ago. She finished with 1,733 career points, good for fifth in program history.

 The Huron, S.D., native averaged 12.4 points per game throughout her career, putting her inside the top-10 in DWU women's basketball history for career average points per game. Carr also tallied 746 rebounds and 155 assists in her career, while sinking 649 field goals and shooting 83.4% from the free-throw line in her career.

 The senior trio complete their individual careers being inside the top-5 scoring of their respective programs and recording eight All-American Team mentions combined throughout their careers.
