DWU men’s golf takes first at 2017 Bethel Spring Invitational
HESSTON, Kan. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team started the New Year off with a first-place finish at the Bethel Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Hesston, Kan.
HESSTON, Kan. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team started the New Year off with a first-place finish at the Bethel Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Hesston, Kan.
On Day One, the Tigers finished in a tie for first place, but were able to score a team total of 594 to solely take possession of first place in the 16-team event.
Senior Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) finished in sixth to lead the Tigers. Elliott Banks (East Sussex, England) secured a tie for 11th-place, while Russell Pick (Kimball, S.D.) came in 15th-place.
Other Tiger golfers that competed were Michael Whitney (Brnadon, S.D.) who tied for 19th-place, Connor Preston (Aberdeen, S.D.), Jayden Engels (Watertown, S.D.) and Cal Wiese (Fedora, S.D.)
Other teams that competed include: Hastings College, Morningside College, Bethel College, Kansas City Community College, Midland University, Baker University, Mid-America Christian University, Kansas Wesleyan University, Hannibal-LaGrange College, Doane University, Hesston College and Haskell Indian Nation.
The Tigers are back in action when they battle Doane College on Friday at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course and College Heights Golf Course in Crete and Lincoln, Neb.
