Men’s golf concludes season at GPAC Championships
Dakota Dunes, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team finished seventh as a team at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championships Tuesday and Wednesday at Dakota Dunes Country Club in Dakota Dunes, S.D.
DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team finished eighth as a team at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships Tuesday and Wednesday at Dakota Dunes Country Club in Dakota Dunes, S.D.
After finishing 54 holes tied for first place, Nolan Wiegel (Huron, S.D.) finished in ninth place after carding a 69 in the third round and an 85 in the fourth round. With the top-10 finish, Wiegel was named to the All-GPAC men's golf team.
Cade Carpenter (Mitchell, S.D.) finished in 24th place after shooting a 73 in round three and a 74 in round four. Justice Morrison (Norris, S.D.) shot an 87 in the third round but came back in round four and fired a 74 to finish in 34th with a two-round total of 161.
Bennett Lundy (Aberdeen, S.D.) finished in 39th after a 77 in the third round and in the fourth round carded an 87. Tony Hayes (Sioux Falls, S.D.) did not participate in the fall qualifier but did participate in the spring qualifier and shot an 87 in the third round and fired a 79 in the final round. Jayden Engels (Watertown, S.D.) participated in the fall qualifier but did not participate in the spring qualifier.
The meet concludes the Tigers spring season, without any seniors on the roster, DWU will expect everyone to return for next season.
