Trimble scored 25 goals and assisted on five goals during his junior season, followed by 17 goals and 10 assists in his senior campaign.
"He is a very clean, technical player with a great finishing instinct," Head Coach Paul Bennett said.
The three-year starter helped the Broncs finish as runner-up in the Class A state tournament during the 2013 season. In 2015 he was named Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference. Trimble was then named First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference while being nominated as team MVP for his efforts during his senior season.
Off the field, the 5-foot-11 striker found success in the classroom. In 2016, he was named to the Academic All-State Team.
"We are confident that Lucas has all the tools to succeed on and off the field," Bennett said. "We are very excited that he chose DWU to further his academic and athletic careers."
Lucas is the son of Jim and Wanda Trimble. He plans to major in web design while at DWU.
