MITCHELL, S.D. – The fifth signee for the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team is the first commit from outside of South Dakota as Andrew Luoma joins the Tigers from Fairbanks, Alaska.
He was a three-year starter and four-year letter recipient at West Valley High School. He helped the Wolfpack to three conference championships.
The 6-foot defender looks to add depth on the Tiger backline for the 2017 season. He was named to the All-Conference Team his senior season.
"Andrew is a player that will come in and provide us with some much needed experience," Bennett said. "He is also very focused, determined and a humble young man who will do whatever is needed to help our team. These qualities will be great assets not only to our program, but for our university as well."
Luoma competed for the Phoenix Soccer Club in high school. He also played for Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., in 2013 before transferring to Mitchell Technical Institute.
He is the son of Brian and Beverly Luoma.
