Dordt handles DWU in conference action

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa. – After a quick turnaround, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team dropped their Great Plains Athletic Conference road match with Dordt College, 5-1 Monday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Tigers (4-7, 1-4 GPAC) held their own through the first 20 minutes of play, but Dordt (6-5-1, 2-3-1 GPAC) scored in the 23rd minute as the teams headed to intermission with DWU down by one.
The Defenders added a goal in the second half, but Julian Mole (Buenos Aires, Argentina) got the Tigers on the board to bring DWU within one point. Dordt went on to score three unanswered goals as the Tigers fell to Dordt.
Mole finished the match with two shots and one goal for the Tigers. Cesar Tabares (Phoenix, Ariz) collected two shots and Oscar Molina (Gillette, Wyo.) chipped in one shot in the loss.
DWU will return home to take on Mount Mary College for Faculty Appreciation Night at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
