Men’s soccer halted versus Midland

FREMONT, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team allowed five first-half goals as they lost their Great Plains Athletic Conference game against Midland University, 5-1 on Saturday in Fremont, Neb.

The Warriors (7-3-1, 3-1 GPAC) got on the scoreboard early with a goal in the fifth minute. They also scored a pair of penalty kicks in the 14th and 19th minutes.

The Tigers (2-5-2, 1-3-1 GPAC) did not go away as Jason Jattan (Union City, Calif.) connected on his penalty kick in the 76th minute to put DWU on the scoreboard. However, it was not enough as the Tigers fell in conference action.

Jattan finished with the lone goal, as Isaias Pio (Santa Cruz, Calif.), Ronaldo Acosta (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) and Oscar Menchaca (Lindsay, Calif.) tallied a shot each. Matthew Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) notched eight saves.

DWU steps out of conference action as they travel to take on NCAA DII University of Mary at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Bismarck, N.D.
