Tigers fall to Jimmies on road

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team traveled north to take on Great Plains Athletic Conference foe, University of Jamestown and lost 3-1 Wednesday in Jamestown, N.D.

The Jimmies (6-6, 3-3 GPAC) struck first in the 21st minute with a goal. Less than a minute later they tallied a second goal. Moments before halftime, Jamestown added a third goal to take a 3-0 advantage into the locker rooms.

The Tigers (2-7-3, 1-5-1 GPAC) would not be kept off the scoreboard as Rafael Medrano (Phoenix, Ariz.) found the back of the net in the 66th minute. However, that would be the only goal DWU scored as they dropped the conference match.

Medrano finished with two shots and a goal, while Angel Tapia (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Lucas Bule (Buenos Aires, Argentina) notched a shot. Matthew Campbell (Duluth, Minn.) recorded four saves.

DWU returns home to host No. 5 Hastings College at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex.
