TIGER MEN'S SOCCER DROPS SEASON OPENER 4-0
Mitchell, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers dropped their 2023 regular season opener after a hard battle against Western Iowa Technical Community College 4-0 at the Pepsi-Cola soccer complex. It was a tale of two halves with the Comets scoring all of their goals in the first and then the Tiger defense playing their type of aggressive, fast, and hustle defense. The Tigers drop to 0-1 on the season while the Comets grabbed their first win to improve to 1-1.

How it Happened
DWU, despite the final score of the game won in the shots department 15-13 and had a lot of really good looks but just couldn't find the back of the net. Dakota Wesleyan had the air taken of themselves and the DWU faithful in the crowd when the Comets netted a goal in the first minute of the match. WIT scored their goals in the 1', 3', 17', and 32'. Dakota Wesleyan head coach Nicolas Reinhard made a switch at goalkeeper in the second half to go with last year GPAC Player-of-the-week Hunter Birozy. The decision paid off with Birozy protecting the net with two saves and zero goals in 45 minutes.
