Lamber, Rabenberg and Jenkins lead way as Tigers compete at GPAC Championships

CRETE, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the GPAC Championships over the weekend in Crete, Neb. Kamber Lamber (Hartford, S.D.), Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) and Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championships after standout performances at the GPAC Championships.

 Lamber took first in the Pentathlon and set the DWU Pentathlon record with 3,311 points. In the events of the Pentathlon, Lamer took third in the high jump with a jump of 5-0.5. Next, she placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.32 seconds. Later, she took fifth in the long jump after a mark of 17-2.75 and in the shot put Lamer took fifth with a throw of 32-11. In the 800-meter run, she finished in fifth-place in a time of 2:34.42.

 In the triple jump, Lamer took third following a leap of 36-5.5 feet.

 Rabenberg came in second in the high jump after a jump of 6-8.25, automatically qualifying for the NAIA Indoor Championships. He also notched a sixth-place finish in the long jump after a leap of 21-8.75.

 Jenkins automatically qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championships in the shot put after coming in third with a throw of 56-9.5.

 Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) tallied a ninth-place finish in the 600-meter run in 1:26.09 and took ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.22. Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.) came in ninth-place in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.74.

 Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) notched a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:25.28, while Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) came in 10^th in the 5,000-meter run in 20:26.88. Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) came in seventh in the triple jump after a leap of 35-1.25.

 Lamber, Rabenberg and Jenkins will compete at the NAIA Indoor National Championships on March 1 through March 3 in Pittsburgh, Kan.
