Jenkins earns All-American honors, Lamer and Rabenberg compete at NAIA Indoor National Championships
PITTSBURGH, Kan. – Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) earned All-American status after an impressive showing at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) and Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) also competed for the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track and field teams from March 1-3 in Pittsburgh, Kan.
PITTSBURGH, Kan. – Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) earned All-American status after an impressive showing at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) and Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) also competed for the Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams from March 1-3 in Pittsburgh, Kan.
Jenkins competed in the shot put against some of the best throwers in the NAIA. He finished with a throw of 57-5.5 feet, taking fifth place overall and earning All-American honors. The mark was a career-best for Jenkins in the shot put.
Lamer took part in the Pentathlon for the Tigers and finished in 13th place with 3,035 points. In the shot put she finished in sixth after a toss of 32-5.5 feet, while finishing eighth in the long jump with a leap of 16-8.75 feet. She also took 23rd in the triple jump with a mark of 35-6, 29th in the long jump at 16-5.75 feet, 14th in the high jump at 4-9.5 feet, 15th in the 60-meter hurdles in 10 seconds and 11th in the 800-meter run in 2:34.52 minutes.
Rabenberg was the third Tiger competing at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. He finished with a 13th-place showing in the high jump after a leap of 6-6 feet.
The outdoor track and field season begins on March 23 at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb.
