Schlicht takes first as DWU competes at Dakota Realty Alumni Meet

Senior runner Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) led the way for the Tigers in the 600-meter run. With a 1:25.87-minute run, Schlicht took home first place. The time moves him into the top-10 in the conference in that event.
In the 1,000-meter run, freshman Justin Sorensen (Vermillion, S.D.) took eighth with a time of 2:43.33. On the field events side for the men, Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) came away with a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 21-7.25 feet.
In the shot put, Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) took 13th with a throw of 49-9, coming just short of the national qualifying mark. Right behind him in 14th was Ryan Kienzle (Gillette, Wyo.), who threw a personal best of 48-2.75. Kienzle also competed in the weight throw where he moved into 10th all-time in program history with a throw of 47-0.25. Dawson Kerzman (Dell Rapids, S.D.) came away with an eighth-place finish as he threw an impressive 51-11.25, good for fourth in program history.
For the women, freshman Avany Long (Oacoma, S.D.) moved her way to fourth all-time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.76 seconds.
Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) improved on her time in the 60-meter dash as she ran an 8.08. This is good for fifth all-time in DWU history. Lia Guigui (Rapid City, S.D.) also broke into the top-10 in the 60-meter dash with a run of 8.30.
Gerber also competed in the long jump where she jumped a season best 16-7.75, which was good for a 10th place finish.
In the distance, senior Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) brought home a 10th-place finish in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:26.02.
The Tigers will travel to Brookings, S.D., on Friday and Saturday to compete in the SDSU Indoor Classic.
