Rabenberg and Lamer lead the way for DWU at Dordt Indoor Invite
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Sophomore Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) and Junior Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) shined for the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Dordt College Indoor Invite Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Sophomore Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) and Junior Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) shined for the Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams at the Dordt College Indoor Invite Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Rabenberg tallied his first top-place finish of his collegiate career in the triple jump with a leap of 43-9 feet. He also notched a second-place finish in the high jump after recording a mark of 6-7, helping him hit the automatic qualifying mark in the high jump.
Lamer continued her success with a top finish in the triple jump with a jump of 35-4. In the 55-meter hurdle, she recorded a second-place finish with a time of 8.79 seconds. Lamer also came in ninth in the high jump after recording a mark of 4-7.
In the men's shot put, Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) notched first place and automatically qualified for the NAIA Indoor National Meet with a toss of 53-5. In the weight throw, Jenkins grabbed third place with a mark of 54-0, provisionally qualifying for the NAIA Indoor National Meet.
In the shot put, Caden Milmine (Buffalo, Wyo.) placed fourth with a throw of 48-3.25 and Dawson Kerzman (Dell Rapids, S.D.) tallied a throw of 40-2.25, good for 12th place. Milmine nabbed a 20th-place finish in the weight throw after a toss of 33-7.5, while Kerzman recorded a 15th-place finish after a mark of 39-11.5.
In the men's 200-meter dash, Dakota Bodden (Tabor, S.D.) came in 12th in 25.01, Shay Gibson (Garretson, S.D.) grabbed a 14th-place finish in 25.23 and Alexander Hall (Farmington, Minn.) notched a 16th-place finish with a time of 29.77.
Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) came in seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.85, as Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) came in 13th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:43.48.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Schlicht, Rabenberg, Bodden and Jon Harmening (Jackson, Minn.) came in seventh in 3:40.57. For the DWU women in the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Lamer, Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.), McKenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) and Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) nabbed a fifth-place finish in 4:26.38.
In the triple jump, freshman Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) came in third with a mark of 34-7.5, while Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) and Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) tied for fifth at 33-10.75.
In the long jump, Longville tallied a 12th-place finish with a leap of 15-2.25 and Isis Insua (Iroquois, S.D.) came in 18th after a jump of 13-11.75.
Madison Witte (Huron, S.D.) notched a 10th-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 37-3.25, while Heidi Frazee (Gillette, Wyo.) tallied a 32nd-place finish with a throw of 28-10.25.
Schweigert came in seventh in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:50.31, as Heath took home an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 27.94.
The Tigers return to action on Friday as they compete at the SDSU DII Invitational in Brookings, S.D.
