DWU cross country opens season at Augie Twilight
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country teams opened their seasons on Friday at the Augie Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons on Friday at the Augie Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D.
On the men's side, senior Jeremiah Panec (Kenesaw, Neb.) nearly placed in the top-50 among many DI and DII runners, bringing home a 52rd-place finish. Freshman Brendan Langbehn (Worthing, S.D.) took 155th, while Ryan Chase (Huron, S.D.) placed 159th followed by Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) in 178th, Bryce Blank (Rapid City, S.D.) at 204th and Anthony Fontenot (Stephan, S.D.) at 269th.
There was 280 runners on the men's side.
For the DWU women, sophomore McKenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) finished in 93rd-place followed by Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) in 217th and Morgan Aughenbaugh (Huron, S.D.) finishing in 224th-place. Junior Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) took 234rd-place and freshman Macey Bohl (Garretson, S.D.) finished in 245th.
There were 310 runners on the women's side this year.
Both teams are back in action at the Dordt Invite on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
