Bio

Montana State University '17

 Kughn comes to DWU from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. He will be in charge of the men’s and women’s cross country teams as well as men's and women's track and field long distance runners.

 At MSU, Kughn helped his team become the 2017 Brosky Champions in the distance medley relay. He took sixth at 2014 Big Sky Conference Meet in the 3,000-meter run. In 2017, Kughn placed seventh in the mile run and took first in the distance medley relay at the Big Sky Conference Meet.

 His best mark in the 800-meter run came in 1:54.9 and finished the mile run in a personal best 4:08.2. Kughn notched a time of 8:20 in the 3K run, 14:39 in the 5K and finished the 3K steeple in 9:21. In high school, he was named to the All-State Track and Cross Country teams, while also being a member of the All-Midwest Cross Country team.

 Kughn will assist head coach Derik Fossum with recruiting, practice and cross country meet management. He is also pursuing a Master’s degree in educational policy and administration from DWU.
