Tiger coach Ed Kieff stretched his reach a bit farther to find his next signee, as Sacramento, Calif., native Amber Budmark recently committed with a National Letter of Intent to play for DWU.
Kieff expects the 5-foot-6 Budmark to play a versatile role for the Tigers. She played catcher, first base and third base for her club team this year.
"Amber is a talented player and a fantastic student," Kieff said. "She comes from a well-known club program in Sacramento. She will add depth at several positions including catcher and third base."
While playing for the CA Yard Sharks in 2014, Budmark had a batting average of .456, including five extra-base hits, 21 RBIs in 71 plate appearances. In 20 games played, Budmark committed just one error in the field.
"She has a strong bat and doesn't strikeout which will help her get on the field sooner," Kieff added. "Her experience will help her transition to our program quickly. We are fortunate to have signed her and are looking forward to having her here for four years."
In 2012, Budmark was a member of a Section Championship team. She attends Placer High School, where she is currently in her senior year,
Amber is the daughter of Don and Jen Budmark and plans to major in biochemistry and criminal justice at DWU.
