Newman joins the Tiger softball squad as a graduate assistant after recently graduating from DWU with a degree in athletic training. The Columbus, Neb., native was a member of the Tiger squad during her time at DWU. During her freshman year, Newman had a .260 batting average, while playing in 34 games. 

Newman will assist head coach Ed Kieff in recruiting, game-day management and practice planning, while pursuing a Master's degree in educational policy and administration.
