DWU continues to build with local talent

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team has begun the recruiting process for the 2019-20 season with the addition of three local standouts, head women’s basketball coach Jason Christensen announced Tuesday. Christensen added Mattilynn Reiner of Tripp, S.D., Emma Paul of Dell Rapids, S.D., and Sydnaya Dunn of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Ashley and Amber Bray tabbed with All-American honors, Christensen named Coach of the Year

MITCHELL, S.D. – Less than a week after winning its first National Championship in program history, the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team landed two players on the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball All-American Teams as head coach Jason Christensen was awarded the Phyllis Holmes NAIA Coach of the Year Award, it was announced by the NAIA Thursday.

DWU defeated Concordia University, 82-59 in the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship, presented by Mercy Medical Center and Seaboard Triumph Foods, Tuesday at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
