TIGERS INCREASE HEAD-TO-HEAD WIN STREAK TO 16 AGAINST MIDLAND BEHIND ROSENQUIST CAREER-HIGH 22 POINTS IN FIRST START

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan women's basketball took care of business at home 84-54. With the win the Tigers increased their win streak against Midland to 16 games. Rylee Rosenquist, in her first career start didn't disappoint with a career-high 22 points and eight rebounds. Jada Campbell dominated as usual with 24 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. The Tigers improved to 11-5 (5-5 GPAC) while the Warriors drop to 3-13 (1-10 GPAC).

Recap –

The Tigers came out firing on all cylinders on offense with the usual game plan of feeding Campbell inside and finding the open cutter. Rylee Rosenquist earned her first collegiate start and did not shy away from the moment in the first quarter, scoring five points in the first couple minutes. Midland kept it close with efficient shooting from deep going 4-5 in the quarter and starting a perfect 4-4. With the score 19-14 both squads did a hockey line change which resulted in the Tigers going on a scoring drought to close out the remaining 2:40 for a 19-18 score after one quarter.

With the starters back in DWU kept the pedal down on offense but woke up on the defensive side only allowing eight points in the quarter and forcing seven turnovers in the quarter alone. Rosenquist was at it again in the second quarter scoring eight points in the quarter tying her season-high of 13 points on the year. Rosenquist did it with strong aggressive play around the rim. Campbell on her quest to 1,000 career points at DWU finished the half with 14 points. Campbell was also acting as the floor general racking up three assists in the half as well. Dakota Wesleyan headed to halftime with a 42-26 lead.

Rosenquist was back at it early with a layup from Campbell to open the second half. The third quarter showed Midland responding and winning the quarter 20-17, making it a 59-46 game. This quarter the Warriors were able to force a couple Tiger turnovers and take full advantage of them, turning them into points. They attacked DWU down low compared to the perimeter offense in the first half. Dakota Wesleyan spread it around in the quarter like they did all game getting five points from Edelman, four from Hansen and Rosenquist and three from Ihnen.

Dakota Wesleyan pulled away in the fourth quarter winning the quarter 25-8 for a 30-point win, 84-54. Jada Campbell led the Tigers with 24 points in the contest followed by Rosenquist with career-high 22 points in her first start. Throughout the whole game the Tigers used good ball movement to find the open driver or shot. DWU racked up 25 assists in the contest, which is the second most on the season. DWU shot a very efficient 50.0% from the floor in the game.

• DWU is now 37-5 all-time against MID with tonight's win.
• Dakota Wesleyan now rides a current 16 game winning streak against the Warriors dating back to their last loss on 1/24/15 when they fell 71-61. The Tigers are winning by a 24.5-point margin during that span.
