DWU women’s golf ties for seventh in season debut
YANKTON, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golf team began its 2017 season at the Mount Marty Invite on Thursday and Friday at the Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D.

As a team, the Tigers finished in a tie with Northwestern College after tallying a two-day total of 724. The Tigers shot a 358 on the first day and a 366 on the final day.
Freshman Skylar Brunk (Lee's Summit, Mo.) finished in a tie for 22nd-place with teammate Nicole Nelson (Platte, S.D.) with a 176.
Freshman Brooke Ehlers (Worthing, S.D.) tied for 32nd-place with a 181, while Madison Van Walleghen (Letcher, S.D.) tied for 50th with a 191. Rounding out the Tiger scoring was sophomore Emily Sharkey (Upton, Wyo.) who finished with a 215, good for 73rd-place.
Morningside College took home the team championship after carding a 645.
The Tigers are back in action at the Morningside Invite on Sept. 11 at the Whispering Creek Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa.
