Local standout inks with DWU women’s golf team
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s head golf coach Tom Hoek is pleased to announce the signing of local standout Jayden Bormann to a letter of intent.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's head golf coach Tom Hoek is pleased to announce the signing of local standout Jayden Bormann to a letter of intent.
During her junior season, Bormann placed ninth at the South Dakota Class 'A' Golf Tournament with a stroke average of 84. She tabbed a 20th-place finish at the state golf tournament her freshman season.
She helped the Parkston golf team to a team championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The Parkston, S.D., native was named the MVP of the golf team in 2016 and most improved golfer in 2014.
"Jayden exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete," Hoek said. "The perseverance and dedication she displays in her academic and athletic careers is unparalleled and she will make a great addition to our university."
Bormann was named to the Academic All-State team as well as being a member of the National Honor Society.
She was a six-time letterwinner for the golf team and a three-time letterwinner for the Parkston girls' basketball team.
"Jayden has proven over the years that she is willing to put in the time to reach a high level in her game," Hoek said. "Jayden comes from a very successful program under coach Tyler Hockett and I am anxious to see her jump into our system and compete with the rest of our 2018 recruiting class."
Bormann is the daughter of JD and Jennifer Bormann and plans to major in biology at DWU.
