Women's Golf Claims 1st at Match Play Tournament
Sioux City, Iowa- The DWU women's golf traveled to Sioux City, Iowa to compete in the Briar Cliff Match Play tournament hosted by Briar Cliff University. The two-day tournament consisted of individual one on one plays, with scores that tallied up to a combined team score. DWU plauyed their individual match against College of St. Mary. 
 
Individual Highlights: 
 
- Allison Meyerink (Fr.) had a strong performace, winning 2 and 1 against Katie Freeman. Meyerink earned 3 out of 3 points. 
- Ashton Austreim (Jr.) also delivered a solid result with her winning her match against Emily Fauble. A 3 and 1 overall win, and 3 out of 3 points earned by Austreim. 
- Sara Sudenga (So.) finished with a 5 and 3 win over her opponent, Ritzy Dominguez, earning her 2.5 points out of 3. 
- Kaylee Johnson (Sr.) tied her match with Victoria Farkas. Showing her ability to contribute to the team, she scored a total of 2.5 points out of 3. 
- Dakotah Larson (Fr.) fell to Erika Headlee, but her effort helped round out the team's strong performance. Larson earned 1 out of 3 points. 
 
The Women's team finished 1st overall, showing a well-rounded effort throughout the Briar Cliff tournament. 
 
Tigers Look Ahead: 
After two days of indiviual play, the women's golf team will rest for a the week and return at the DWU Golf Open. A home tournament at Lakeview golf course in Mitchell.
