FREMONT, Neb. - The Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team faced three Great Plains Athletic Conference foes at the GPAC Duals on Saturday in Fremont, Neb.
In their first match, the Tigers took on the host team Midland University, losing to the Warriors 42-9. Alex Osborne (Vermillion, S.D.) pinned Midland's Ronnie Nelson in the 174-pound weight class. The Tigers also picked up a win at the 197-pound weight class, as Nick Woslum (Palmdale, Calif.) defeated Rajan Ellebb in a 10-4 decision.
In the second match of the day, DWU battled Northwestern College losing to the Red Raiders 42-6. Marcus Urban (Plankinton, S.D.) picked up a decision in the 157-pound weight class, and also Robert McCardle (Mitchell, S.D.) posted a victory with a 9-3 decision over Victor Garcia.
In the final match of the day, the Tigers took on Morningside College, losing to the Mustangs 42-3. The lone victory for DWU came at the 197-pound weight class, where Woslum picked up a 5-1 victory as he finished the day with a 2-1 record.
The Tigers are back on the mat at the Sioux City Open on Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.
