Tigers drop home dual to Bulldogs

MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team hosted Concordia University for the season opening dual and fell to the Bulldogs, 58-0 Friday night in Mitchell.

 In the opening match, Xylon Takata (Hilo, Hawaii) lost to Zackary Moistner of Concordia by technical fall, 16-1. Mitchell Messersmith (Lennox, S.D.) wrestled next and was pinned in the second period.

 Next up was Marcus Urban (Plankinton, S.D.) who held his own into the second period. However, Urban was pinned by Issiah Burks. In the heavyweight match, Bradley Dohmen (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) dropped his match by a technical fall, 20-3.

 The Tigers return to the mat at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the DWU Open in Mitchell.
