DWU wrestling falls to Briar Cliff
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team faced off against Great Plains Athletic Conference foe, Briar Cliff University. The Chargers came away with a 56-0 victory Tuesday night at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex in Mitchell.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team faced off against Great Plains Athletic Conference foe, Briar Cliff University. The Chargers came away with a 56-0 victory Tuesday night at the DWU/Avera Sports and Wellness Complex in Mitchell.
In the first match, Xylon Takata (Hilo, Hawaii) lost to Isiah Lysius of Briar Cliff by fall. Mitchell Messersmith (Lennox, S.D.) wrestled next for the Tigers and was defeated by Zac Funderburk by technical fall.
Cole Halouska (Worthing, S.D.) wrestled tough against Zach Davis of Briar Cliff. After a hard-fought match, Davis held on to win 5-0. Joseph Cunha (Schaumburg, Ill.) was defeated by fall at the 197-pound weight class, and Bradley Dohmen (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) lost his match in the second period by fall to Matthew Wilke.
DWU will be back in action at the Simpson Open at 9 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 1st in Indianola, Iowa.
