Dordt edges DWU in GPAC battle

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – A single goal in the first half of a Great Plains Athletic Conference contest sealed the deal for the Dordt College women's soccer team on Saturday, defeating the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team in Sioux Center, Iowa.

 The Defenders scored in the 42nd minute, outshooting the Tigers 28-5 in the contest. Gemini Wesley (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) managed two shots on goal for DWU. Freshman goalie Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) tallied 10 saves in the net.

 The Tigers (5-5, 0-3 GPAC) host Northwestern College for a GPAC bout at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell.
