Bardsley inks with DWU women’s soccer
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s head soccer coach Clay Glasgow is pleased to announce his newest signee as Josephine Bardsley joins the Tiger roster for the 2018 season from Tea, S.D.
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University women's head soccer coach Clay Glasgow is pleased to announce his newest signee as Josephine Bardsley joins the Tiger roster for the 2018 season from Tea, S.D.
"The choice to attend DWU was very simple with its home-like feel, exceptional academics and athletic programs," Bardsley said. "Going to DWU will allow me the opportunities to thrive in and outside of the classroom. Furthermore, what is better than getting a good education while playing the most beautiful sport on the planet with people who I see myself calling family?"
The team captain finished her five-year career with nine goals and six assists during her senior year, leading the Tea Titans to a 10-1-1 season.
During her junior season, Bardsley finished with four goals and 10 assists, while recording a goal and five assists in her sophomore season. She helped her team to back-to-back South Dakota Class 'A' girls soccer runner-up finishes during her junior and sophomore seasons.
In her freshman season she tallied two goals and five assists, while notching two goals and two assists in her eighth-grade season.
Bardsley played club soccer for the Tempo, South Dakota United, ISA and the Dakota Alliance. During those years she helped her team win a state championship.
The Tea, S.D., native started for the Titans for four and a half seasons and also played basketball for one year.
"Jozy is definitely a great addition to our university and soccer program," Glasgow said. "She is a very skillful player and loves to take on players in the final third and score goals. We are beyond excited that Jozy decided to join our family here at Dakota Wesleyan University."
Bardsley is the daughter of Dee Bardsley and plans to major in nursing at DWU.
