DWU comes up short on the road

YORK, Neb. – A second-half goal was the difference as the Dakota Wesleyan University woman’s soccer team came up short in a battle with York College Saturday, losing 1-0.

YORK, Neb. – A second-half goal was the difference as the Dakota Wesleyan University woman's soccer team came up short in a battle with York College Saturday, losing 1-0.

 Neither team could find the net in the first half as DWU had eight total shots in the first half and five shots on goal. With 16 minutes left to go in the match, York (4-0) found the back of the net to edge the Tigers (1-3) 1-0.

 Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished with four shots and also three shots on goal, while Alexandria Jacobs (Niles, Calif.) tallied two shots and Hannah Bowes (Omaha, Neb.) finished the game with four saves in net for the Tigers.

 DWU will hit the road to take on Central Christian College at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in McPherson, Kan.
