Tigers place at SDSU Indoor Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University track and field teams competed in the SDSU Indoor Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, S.D.
On the women's side, McKenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) finished in 23rd-place in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:09.56. Freshman Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) tallied a 43rd-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 16-01 ½ (4.91m). In the weight throw, Heidi Frazee (Gillette, Wyo.) came in 34th-place with a toss of 40-04 ¾ (12.31m), while Kristen Jennings (Canton, S.D.) tossed the shot put 33-06-feet (10.21m), good for a 30th-place finish.
For the DWU men, Nick Raab (Yankton, S.D.) tallied a 14th-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 42-09 ½-feet (13.04m). In the running events, freshman Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) crossed the finish line in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:24.78, good for 33rd-place. Jeremiah Panec ran his way to a 15th-place finish in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:34.68.
The Tigers will compete in the GPAC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
