 BROOKINGS, S.D. – Junior Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) led the way as the Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the SDSU DII Invitational on Friday in Brookings, S.D.

 A week after automatically qualifying for the NAIA Indoor National Meet in the shot put, Jenkins notched first place in the shot put with a toss of 53-3 feet. He also tallied a 12th-place finish in the weight throw after a mark of 53-5.5. Also in the shot put was Caden Miline (Buffalo, Wyo.) who finished in 12th-place with a throw of 45-9.25 and Dawson Kerzman (Dell Rapids, S.D.) who finished in 31st with a mark of 39-5.25.

 Sophomore Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) came in fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6-2.75. In the long jump, he took 11th place after a mark of 21-feet.

 Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) brought home an eighth-place finish in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:24.98.In the 3,000-meter run, Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) finished in 21st in 9:28.20 and Jon Harmening (Jackson, Minn.) tallied a 40th-place finish in the 400-meter dash in 53.47 seconds.

 In the women's long jump, Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) finished third with a jump of 16-11.5. Freshman Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) came in 10th in the triple jump after a mark of 34-feet, while Claire Stoller (Madison, S.D.) and Kristen Longville (Lake Preston, S.D.) tied for 15th after a leap of 33-6.5.

 Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) tallied a 10th-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:25.54, while Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) came in 26th in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:49.91. Kelsie King (Mission Viejo, Calif.) notched a 21st-place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 12:09.39.

 Freshman Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.) finished in 29th in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.59. The 4x400-meter relay team of Lamer, Heath, Schweigert and Schuyler came in 13th with a time of 4:17.50.

 In the weight throw, Madison Witte (Huron, S.D.) notched a 26th-place finish with a throw of 44-2.5 and came in 24th in the shot put with a mark of 36-5.75. Heidi Frazee (Gillette, Wyo.) came in 36th in the weight throw with a toss of 39-11.25.

 The Tigers will compete in the Dennis Young Classic on Friday and Saturday in Storm Lake, Iowa.
