Pair of Tigers Compete at SDSU Holiday Open
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Senior Gabe Dirksen (Lead, S.D.) and sophomore Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) took part in the South Dakota State University Holiday Open on Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Senior Gabe Dirksen (Lead, S.D.) and sophomore Kamber Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) took part in the South Dakota State University Holiday Open on Saturday in Brookings, S.D.
Lamer competed in the women's indoor pentathlon, bringing home an eighth-place finish. Lamer finished in eighth in three different events, including the 60-meter hurdles, 800-meter run and the high jump. The sophomore had a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 8.82 meters, while placing fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.15 meters.
Dirksen tallied a ninth-place finish, placing ninth in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles, eighth in the 60-meter dash, pole vault and 1000-meter run. He also had a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 9.95 meters and a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.80 meters.
Both teams will compete in the Dordt Open on Jan. 14 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
