Rabenberg shines as DWU competes at Ward Haylett Invite
CRETE, Neb. – Junior Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) headlined the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Ward Haylett Invite Saturday in Crete, Neb.

Rabenberg placed first in the high jump with a leap of 7-0.25 feet which set a school record and was the highest jump in NAIA indoor track in the last two years. Rabenberg currently ranks first in the NAIA in the high jump and also ranks 21st across all college divisions.
Lia GuiGui (Rapid City, S.D.) set a personal record in the high jump with a leap of 5-5 while finishing in fourth. GuiGui is currently ranked fifth in the NAIA for the high jump. Kamberlyn Lamer (Hartford, S.D.) participated in the triple jump and recorded a jump of 11.45 which was good for second place. She also set a personal record and is currently ranked 12th in the NAIA in the event.
Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) was also a participant in the triple jump, as she tallied a leap of 11-14 and took fourth place and set a personal record. Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) participated in the long jump competition and finished in seventh place with a jump of 5-00.
Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) participated in the 1,000-meter run and placed second with a time of 3:17 minutes. Rogers is currently ranked first in the GPAC in the 1,000-meter run. Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) ran in the 800-meter race and finished in fourth place with a time of 2:30 and also ranks seventh in the GPAC. Mikaela Stofferahn (Dell Rapids, S.D.) tallied a throw of 41-4.5 and placed second in the meet and is ranked eighth in the GPAC.
Senior Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) collected first place in the shot put event, throwing for a season-best 54-4.5. Jenkins ranks sixth nationally in the competition and second in the GPAC. Matthew Campbell (Gregory, S.D.) placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 51-5.75 and also placed sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 54-6. Calob Jones (Aberdeen, S.D.) collected a first-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 48-1.
In the 4x800-meter relay, Brendan Langbehn (Lennox, S.D.), Bryce Blank (Rapid City, S.D.), Devin Rihanek (Plankinton, S.D.) and Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) finished with a time of 8:37.7. The team finished in third place and are currently ranked second in the GPAC.
Austin Hughes (Box Elder, S.D.) competed in the 200-meter dash and finished with a time of 24.02 and set a personal record. Rihanek also competed in the 600-meter dash and finished with a time of 1:30. Langbehn collected a personal record in the mile run with a time of 4:43.
The Tigers will compete in the SDSU DII Invitational on Friday in Brookings, S.D.
