
MITCHELL, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University Volleyball team played its sixth match in six days against Brair Cliff University Wednesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.
The Chargers came out on top in three sets over the Tigers in the Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup. The line score was 25-22, 25-19, 25-22.
For the first time this season, the Tigers did not have a player finish with double-digit kills, including junior Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.), who had at least 10 kills in every match in 2015. She did lead the team with nine kills to go along with 10 digs.
Senior Maggie Stehly (Sioux Falls, S.D.) posted a team-high 19 digs, while junior Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) added 12 digs and 6 kills. Junior Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) provided a weapon for the Tigers at the service line with four aces. She also had a team-high 28 assists and chipped in with 10 digs.
The Tigers finished with 10 total blocks in the loss, led by junior Sammy Fluck (Becker, Minn.). She totaled three solo blocks and two block assists.
DWU looks for its first GPAC win of the season against Morningside College at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Christen Family Wellness Center in Mitchell, S.D.
