SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team continued to navigate a tough Great plains Athletic Conference schedule against No. 14 Dordt College Wednesday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Tigers fought hard but feel in three sets to the Defenders 25-11, 25-19, 25-20. The loss drops DWU to 10-10 overall and 2-6 in the GPAC.
Four different Tigers finished in double figures in digs, led by senior Maggie Stehly (Sioux Falls, S.D.) with 11. Juniors Dana Misiaszek (Mitchell, S.D.), Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) and Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) each added 10 digs.
The Tiger offense was led by junior Lauren Tadlock with 13 kills. The Rapid City, S.D., native added six digs, while junior Shelbie Budmayr (Belle Fourche, S.D.) chipped in with two total blocks.
Brooke Granstra led the Defenders with 10 kills, while Summer Jansen added 16 digs.
DWU plays a nonconference triangular at home against Peru State University and Mayville State University starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Christen Family Athletic Center in Mitchell, S.D.
