SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team returned to Great Plains Athletic Conference action, falling to Morningside College in three sets Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Tigers fell behind early in the first set and Morningside held on in the second and third to sweep DWU. The loss drops DWU to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the GPAC.
Senior outside hitter Lauren Tadlock (Rapid City, S.D.) finished with a team-high 15 kills, along with nine digs, while freshman Rebecca Frick (Yankton, S.D.) added nine kills. Senior setter Michelle Van Epps (Lakefield, Minn.) recorded 28 assists and five digs in the loss.
The DWU defense was led by senior Libero Taylor Spence (North Branch, Minn.) with 14 digs, while sophomore Leslie Carsrud (Rapid City, S.D.) added seven digs.
DWU looks to rebound with four matches at the College of Saint Mary this weekend in Omaha, Neb. The Tigers take on Grace University in the event opener at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
